1/72nd Airfix TSR 2
by Danny Warren

Danny shows us some in progress photo's of his Airfix TSR 2.

Danny is modelling the BAC TSR.2 first prototype, serial XR219, based at RAF Boscombe Down in 1964, modelled in 1:72 scale by Airfix. This kit is notorious for poor fit, lack of detail, large sprue gates & general difficulty when trying to build a realistic model. There are even issues with the add on sets; all depict the rear cockpit in the production layout whereas the first prototype had a test layout, this has been scratch built using some parts from add on sets.

During testing the aircraft was often parked with most of the doors & some panels open. This is how the model is being built.

Danny is adding a large number of add-ons including:

CMK 7131 Resin TSR2 Interior Set

CMK 7133 Control surfaces set

CMK 7134 Resin & metal Undercarriage set

CMK 7135 Resin Armament set

Eduard 73 257 Detail set, cockpit & exterior (Part used)

Odds & Ordnance 72004 Resin Fin

Pavla 72053 Resin Cockpit set. (Plus some etch items used)

Red Roo Models Resin lights
