Revell Pro-modeller 1/48 Me-410 Bomber version

I purchased this kit years ago reasonably cheaply 2nd hand from a dealer. I started it very early on in my modelling return to plastics and quickly determined that I wasn’t doing it justice, (moving house then reno’s didn’t help either). I had gotten it up to the painting stage of the major components. Fast forward a few years and models later, man cave set up, new airbrush mostly mastered and I dig it out of the stack of doom to have another go.

Its wasn’t a bad as I thought but not up the standard I wanted, so, redid the seams and re-scribed lost panel lines and it was ready for paint. Now why do a bomber and not a cool fighter version with as nice big cannon? Well the dirty rotten scoundrel that traded the kit in had taken all the impressive phallic bits out of the kit, (you know who you are, how can you sleep at night) so bomber version it was. Luckily I had the Aeromaster sheet which had a nice bomber scheme and I like doing black models so no problem.

Overall the kit is very well detailed out of the box and goes together well. Some niggles around intake shape and angle from what I recall but nothing that can’t be fixed or ignored. I’m glad I put the kit aside and did it when my skills improved beyond that of a gibbon with learning issues to merely mediocre. If your into losing side aeroplanes grab one, they come up from time to time 2nd hand, I picked up another one, to one day hopefully convert into Me-210 which were based out of Sicily for my Malta collection.
